Playing with Dad

For those of you who know Dave, he is what you would call an avid hunter. Any kind of hunt you can think of, he does. He's already planning for September's Big Bull Elk hunt. He goes a little overboard, I think, but he enjoys it. While he's not hunting, he's searching for "sheds" of elk or deer. "Sheds" are the dropped antlers of deer and elk. So to give you a little background, Dave had been watching the elk on the mountainsides of our house from our back deck through his spotting scope. He had been watching them for months and months. I know, he's a little obsessed. Eventually the elk were dropping their sheds and Dave took a hike up to the mountains and found these huge elk antlers. They are seriously huge! I can barely lift them they are so heavy. The girls thought they were pretty cool. Andee had to put all of her weight against the one that she is holding and as soon as I took the picture she let it drop and went "Whoa, dat heaby!"

Dave also has two huntings dogs, Deuce and Boone, that he uses when he hunts birds like ducks and sage grouse. They're pretty energetic dogs and the girls just love when he lets them out of their "home" to run around in the back yard. They lick them to death and the girls just giggle. It's fun to watch them play with the dogs.

Do you think your girls will grow up to be hunters with him? ;) Dave needs some boys, you better get on that :)

I am impressed with all your hunting vocabulary! Those are gigantic! I can't believe how much the girls look like little twins in their 2 year old pictures! Wow!

I had no idea he was such a hunter. My sis-in-law and her husband are big hunters, too, and they often buy Sammie pink camo outfits. Your girls would be dolls in pink camo!
