Celebrating 1 Year

It's tradition to have a family party when you turn 1 year old. Right? Kenadie could have cared less but she sure enjoyed the balloons, the people, ripping paper and the cake of course. Our nickname for her is "bug" so we decided to do a bug theme (to a degree - we wouldn't want to go overboard).

Our little bug just checking things out. Definitely not paying any attention to mom or the camera.
It took her a minute to discover what to do with the cupcake but she did alright. She got a little messy but not too bad. I was worried about the color of the frosting and stains but we made out OK.

She got this cute little pillow/stuffed bug that she just loved. She loved all the things she got. Thanks everyone and Happy Birthday Kenadie. We love you!

Zoo Trip

For Kenadie's birthday we decided to take yet another trip to the zoo. Kenadie loves anything to do with animals - stuffed and real - so what better place. Haylee and Blake just happen to be in Utah so they brought my mom up and we all went to the zoo (except Dave, who said he didn't want to spend the day with a bunch of girls - poor Blake).

It was a PERFECT day. The weather was so nice and we went late enough in the day that there was absolutely no crowds!
We, of course, had to ride the train! A trip to the zoo wouldn't be complete without one.

Paityn and Andee thought they were pretty cool stuff sitting in the very front all by themselves. Those giraffes are so interesting to watch. Kenadie couldn't get enough of them. And that baby elephant is still one of the cutest things I have ever seen!
We had such a fun time!

Easter Girls

This is a little late, but I thought my girls looked so cute in their Easter dresses. They didn't even get to wear them until a week later. They almost couldn't stand to see them sitting in their closets and not being able to wear them.

And Kenadie just looked so big. Not a baby anymore! *tear*

The Things That Entertain Me

This is what has kept me entertained the last few nights! The movie comes out and I wanted to read it before I saw the movie. The movie looked a little creepy but I decided to read the book anyway because my book-loving sister loved it and recommended it. I couldn't put it down it was so good.

My other entertainment only happens once in a blue moon, and that is concert. Dave gave me tickets to the Micael Buble concert for Christmas. It was about a week and a half ago and I am still replaying it in my mind. I LOVED it! He is an amazing performer. Even Dave, who isn't into that kind of music at all, thought it was pretty good. I've always loved Frank Sinatra and when I heard Michale Buble for the first time I thought it sounded just like Ol' Blue Eyes. All I had was the camera on my phone and I wasn't going to take pictures but I couldn't help it. They don't even come close to capturing the energy there. It was so cool!
I didn't even get a cheesy picture of Dave and I together dang it. All I was concerned about was that dreamy Michale Buble! Did I just say dreamy!?

Our Silly, Almost One Year Old

That's right. Kenadie is almost 1. She fills our life with so many bright and funny moments that keep us smiling and laughing. She certainly knows how to work the whining to her advantage and goes from a cry to a smile in seconds. Here's just a few of those bright moments.

Kenadie figured out how to scrunch her nose and then obviously her whole face! She will suck in and out through her nose making a snotty mess around her nose, but it sure is funny! What a ham, and I still just love those two little bottom front teeth. Sad to say, but one of Kenadie's favorite toys is the box of tampons in the bathroom. It keeps her busy for quite a while which is great in the mornings when I'm trying to get everyone ready and I don't mind because it's easy clean-up. Kenadie's latest thing is taking everything out of boxes, or any container for that matter, and then climbing in and just sitting there. She'll try to rock it like it's a rocking chair and when that doesn't work she'll just sit there and bounce. Again, this keeps her busy for quite a while.
(This one's for you Blake!)
Kenadie loves to eat, especially anything that is sweet. Her wide open mouth proves this. We wonder if it could get any wider.

She was so funny when we were coloring Easter eggs because she would pick up the ones that were done and then just throw them. She thought it was great fun. Sometimes it's a struggle to get her to go to sleep and this time was no different. I never know what will help her go to sleep. My parents chair was the answer this time. I laid her down in it with her blankets, rocked a bit and she was out. She will probably never go to sleep like this again but it worked great this time.

We love our little "bug"!

Belle, life-size mouse, pirates and Spongebob!

Those four things don't normally go together, but they do when you celebrate two little girls birthdays just 11 days apart. We didn't have big birhday parties this year (thank goodness) and just decided to let them pick where they wanted to have dinner. Andee chose to go to McDonald's first and then over to Chuck-E-Cheese (therefore the life-size mouse) to play games (no pictures). They had a blast but I'll remember not to go on a Friday night ever again! She also decided that she wanted a "Belle" birthday cake. I thought it turned out pretty good :)
Paityn chose to have a Spongebob cake for some reason. I was expecting something pink and girly but, no, she wanted Spongebob. Also, turned out pretty good. Then she wanted to go to Pirate Island Pizza for dinner. It was such a cool place and the food wasn't bad either.

I can't believe I have a 7 year old and a 4 year old. Now Paityn thinks she is officially a "girl" and not a "little girl" and now Andee has to have everything in groups of 4 instead of 3. Now if they could just get along :)
